WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU

If you have diabetes, type A blood or react badly to mosquito bites, please remember to bring repellant as there are mosquitos on Malta.

The hotel is a spa, so bring a swimming costume and sports gear if you feel up to testing out the equipment in the gym.

As it is still early(ish) in the season, the evenings can be a little cooler once the sun sets, so suggest you pack a shawl, cardigan or similar just to take the chill off.

Electricity in Malta is 230V and sockets take three-pin rectangular plugs. UK devices are fully compatible and you do not need an adapter. Delegates  from Europe or the US will need an adapter.

ON ARRIVAL

When you disembark from your flight, make your way to the front of the airport terminal (there is only one).  Signage is in English.

Taxis are available directly outside the terminal and buses can be found to your left as you exit the terminal.

Bus/taxi destination is either Ċirkewwa (think Shakira) to the west; or Valetta, which is at the north east side of the island.

Taxis to Ċirkewwa from the airport take about 40 minutes and cost about £30.  Buses are cheaper but will take about a lot longer.

At the Ċirkewwa terminal, board the ferry to Gozo (Port of Mgarr).  The journey will take about 25 minutes and costs €5.  There are taxis outside the ferry terminal in Gozo to take you to the hotel and takes about 10 minutes.  Click for ferry schedulePlease note you only pay when you leave Gozo.

Alternatively, the foot passenger ferry journey from Valetta to Gozo usually takes around 45 minutes with hourly sailings on this route. Prices are around €8, depending on journey date and time (over 60s can get a discount). Click for ferry schedule.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

On Malta people speak English and the currency is Euros.  Payments are accepted by either cash or card.

The country is largely Catholic, and whilst it may seem like the UK, there are cultural differences. Please be respectful.
