WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU

If you have diabetes, type A blood or react badly to mosquito bites, please remember to bring repellant as there are mosquitos on Malta.

The hotel is a spa, so bring a swimming costume and sports gear if you feel up to testing out the equipment in the gym.

As it is still early(ish) in the season, the evenings can be a little cooler once the sun sets, so suggest you pack a shawl, cardigan or similar just to take the chill off.

ON ARRIVAL

When you disembark from your flight, make your way to the front of the airport terminal (there is only one).  Signage is in English.

Taxis are available directly outside the terminal and buses can be found to your left as you exit the terminal.

Destination is either Ċirkewwa (think Shakira, the singer) or Valetta, which is at the north north east side of the island.

The airport is on the south east of Malta and Ċirkewwa is on the west coast, so you are travelling from one side of the island to the other.

Taxis to Ċirkewwa from the airport take about 40 minutes and cost about £30.

Buses are cheaper but will take about a lot longer.

At the Ċirkewwa ferry terminal, purchase a ticket to Gozo (Port of Mgarr).  The ferry will take about 20 minutes.  There are taxis outside the ferry terminal in Gozo to take you to the hotel.

Alternatively, the foot passenger only ferry journey from Valetta to Gozo usually takes around 45 minutes with regular sailings on this ferry route. Prices are around £8, depending on journey date and time (over 60s can get a discount).

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

On Malta people speak English and the currency is Euros.  Payments are accepted in either cash or electronically.

The country is largely Catholic, and whilst it may seem like the UK, there are cultural differences. Please be respectful.
