Dear IAFP members, I'm the Lead of the Forensic Psychotherapy Department in the Three Bridges Regional Secure Unit, West London NHS Trust. Many of you may remember this as the Department that late Dr Gabriel Kirtchuk founded around 25 years ago and which played a significant role in putting psychotherapeutic principles in practice in medium-, low-secure and forensic community settings and in being a hub for cultivating an interest in Forensic Psychotherapy amongst NHS mental health professionals through training and education. Following Gabriel's retirement the Department has undergone a number of changes but remains active in providing psychotherapeutic input to forensic patients and in supporting staff who care for them. I am pleased to let you know that as a result of restructuring there are now two vacancies for non-medical psychotherapists: one for an 8b Principal Adult Psychotherapist (8 sessions, https://www.jobs.nhs.uk/xi/vacancy/916080179) and one for an 8a Highly Specialist Adult Psychotherapist (5 sessions, https://www.jobs.nhs.uk/xi/vacancy/916080729). The closing date is on 5th July. We would welcome applications from colleagues who are resourceful, enthusiastic and interested in working psychotherapeutically with mentally disordered offenders, in supporting staff from different disciplines in inpatient and outpatient forensic settings to make sense of and contain their patients and their emotional impact, and in making use of psychoanalytic theory, knowledge and skills in an applied manner in forensic environments. For further information please contact us on 0208 354 8934 or mail Marie O'Donnell (Marie.ODonnel@westlondon.nhs.uk) to arrange for an informal discussion/visit. Kind regards, Dr Katherine Papaspirou, Consultant Forensic Psychotherapist
